This course covers tools and techniques to support movement professionals in coaching clients to achieve and maintain pain-free range of motion in corrective exercise, athletics, yoga and other movement disciplines. CTB analyzes not only the muscular relationships that cause pain, but also the functional patterns and perpetuating factors that will lead to the pain returning unless corrected.

This course is appropriate for movement and exercise professionals that desire to understand the muscular issues that create pain and movement limitation in their clients, and how to coach their clients in pain-free movement restoration and maintenance.

The principles of CTB have proven to be profoundly effective in not only manual therapy treatment, but also when applied to self care coaching, yoga practice, corrective exercise and other movement disciplines such as Pilates, Gyrotonics, dance and martial arts. We show the use of the Mighty Body Band, Muscle Liberator, EPS and other tools to support the client in achieving and maintaining full, pain-free range of motion.

Any movement or stretching discipline can serve as an illuminating assessment if the observer is equipped with the knowledge contained in CTB. We show specific examples of using the concepts to analyze muscular issues that underlie discomfort and movement dysfunction during corrective exercise and yoga poses. Rather than simply avoiding poses and limiting their movement, clients can be empowered to understand the discomfort and alleviate it within the same scenarios that bring it out.

Students are trained to serve as a guide and coach throughout the corrective exercise cycle. We show examples of using CTB concepts and teaching clients to use tools for myofascial release, contract/relax (post isometric relaxation) and muscle knowledge during their exercise and yoga work.
