This popular in-person and online course teaches anatomy and physiology in a way that is interesting, practical and relevant to the practice of Coaching the Body and trigger point therapy. Instead of the usual dry, memorization-oriented A&P, this class strives to be as interactive and hands-on as possible to increase retention and make learning anatomy fun. This series provides direct experience of bones and muscles at rest as well as in movement. We focus on how to accurately palpate, learning to recognize the location of the muscle as well as its state of health. We cover muscle function, isolated stretching, osteopathic techniques for regulation of muscle function, interaction with energetic anatomy, trigger point pain referral and other topics of critical importance to yogis and bodyworkers.

Prior to attendance to Functional Anatomy, we require students watch the online Functional Anatomy Course, as it will sufficiently prepare you for the detailed training you will receive in class. Functional Anatomy (or equivalent) is required for our Coaching the Body Practitioner (CTBP) Certification, and is required prior to any 200 Level classes. Functional Anatomy trainings are primarily taught by CTB Master Practitioner, Doug Ringwald. Upon successful completion, the student receives a 21-hour certificate. This course provides 21 NCBTMB CE hours.
